Masking tape and Art paper to the rescue

Here is the solution to the issue of the remote not working when the tv is in 3D mode.

1) Tape a piece of paper (sketch pad drawing paper) over the front of the box with masking tape and turn the TV 3D mode on. Now try the remote, if you can change channels your onto a winner, if not try a different type of paper. Remove the paper immediately as this is a fire risk.

2) by shining a torch on the front of the panel you should be able to make out an oval window in the black display. Now take some of the same paper you used before and loosely tape this over the front , making sure you don't cover any of the vents.  Now try the remote and it should work, if not make the paper larger.

Now you have a temporary fix that will allow you to control your dvr whilst you are watching 3D, however please be careful.
